Cydelia House
Client: Harris HMC
Architect: FJMT Architects
Cydelia House comprises of two adjacent terrace houses within the Victorian State heritage listed Drummond Terrace, designed by Walter Scott Law in 1890, and is one of the longest and grandest Victorian terraces in Melbourne. The refurbishment and extension of Cydelia House was undertaken to provide high quality, accessible and contemporary postgraduate student accommodation. FJMT Architects and Harris HMC worked closely with Heritage Victoria to achieve a result that was both sympathetic to the original design and clearly identified the new additions. The shared communal kitchen, dining and living areas cleverly sit between the two terraces overlooking a landscaped outdoor space.
