About Me
I’m an architectural and commercial photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. My work is driven by a deep respect for design intent and a curiosity about how spaces come together — and how they interact with people and place.
That curiosity started young. I was fascinated by the built world around me — the way the height of a step related to how a body moved, the rhythm of pavement, the way rooflines guided the eye or disrupted it. I remember being handed a compact 110 film camera at a family gathering and being asked to take the photo — “Gallant can frame it well,” they’d say. I didn’t think much of it then, but looking back, it feels like it was inevitable.
As a teenager, I drafted with blue lead in a cigarette-hazed architecture office, absorbing the language of design and construction. I went on to study civil engineering before completing a B.Sc (Geology), then explored a range of paths — business development, bicycle mechanics, sales — but photography is where everything converged. I fell into it in my late 20s, and never looked back.

Today, I work with architects, designers, contractors, builders - and anyone else involved in bringing projects to life. I’m commissioned across residential, corporate, industrial, health, education, scientific, and construction sectors, and work with clients locally and worldwide to reflect both the physical space and the thinking behind it.
Whether it’s a completed project or a work in progress, I focus on more than just how a space looks — I aim to show how it works, how it feels, and what it’s trying to communicate.
My goal is to create images that support the people who bring these spaces to life — helping them share their work, win new projects, and tell their story with integrity and intent.
