A joint venture by Victorian School Building Authority and Bayside City Council, providing a high-performance centre for Sandringham College and Community Sports Precinct to service the community.
Photographed over a single day from morning to dusk, this series documents the full extent of the project. A collaborative brief from multiple stakeholders, the photography captures the integration of indoor and outdoor netball courts, refurbished playing fields, and multipurpose learning spaces. A focus was placed on the rhythm and legibility of the built forms, with particular attention given to the COLA (covered outdoor learning area which connects two stadiums housing three competition-sized courts. Narrative encompasses aerials, architectural moments, and active use, balancing form, material, and community engagement.
Key success criteria was to be able to provide high-end imagery for multiple stakeholders. This required planning and conversations prior to shoot day, pre-visualisation walk-through before we began shooting, moving quickly and being agile on location. Joseph Nguyen on the assist ensured spaces were ready, gear was safe and ready, lighting setup when needed, and allowed me to focus on applying my technical background with the creative.
